Mahama is not fighting corruption – Rawlings

Former President John Rawlings has said he doubts if President John Mahama is fighting corruption as he claims.

According to the former President, there is a lot more Mr. Mahama can do if he really wants to fight the canker.

Corruption has been one of the major issues the Mahama-led administration has had to deal with. The President has stated on numerous occasions that his fight against the social canker is unprecedented. But critics have maintained the record of corruption in the country is at all time high under the current NDC administration led by Mahama.

In an exclusive yet-to-be aired interview with Nana Aba Anamoah, the former military leader said the President must do more if he is serious about fighting corruption.

“Well, he says he is fighting corruption effectively, I don’t think so, I think he could have done much much better,” he stated.

Mr. Rawlings also stressed that corruption under the late President John Mills was “terrible”.

The full interview with Mr. Rawlings will be aired on GHONE tonight at 7pm.
