Fresh twins dumped at refuse site in A/R

The bodies of a set of new-born twins have been discovered at Sreso-Adegya in the Ashanti Region.

The bodies were found at a communal waste disposal point by a worker at the site.

The unit committee chair for the area, Mama Vida, who spoke with Accra News’ Cantona, said at about 11am, the refuse attendant in the town was on the site when he heard someone throw rubbish in a polythene bag into the garbage container.

But before he could get to the container to collect it, the person bolted. According to her, the attendant saw a dog – scavenging for food on the dumpsite – pounce on the black polythene bag and pull out what looked like a human baby and took off with it.

According to her, the attendant examined the remaining item in the bag and discovered another baby. Shaken, he rushed to town to inform people, who rushed to the dumpsite, she narrated.

The other twin was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead. The body has been deposited at the mortuary.

She said the matter had been reported to the police for investigations.
