Gunmen attack Bole DCE, bodyguards; one killed

Gunmen suspected to be Ivorians have shot into the security detail of the Bole District Chief Executive Jaaga James.

One person is feared dead after the unidentified gunmen attacked the DCE and his team of security personnel on Friday.

According to Starr News’ Northern regional correspondent Tanko Eliasu, the DCE and his team were on their way to “Dollar Town” a small community which shares borders with Ivory Coast when the incident occurred.

It is unclear why the gunmen fired at the team that was on its way to settle a dispute in that town.

Tanko reports that many others who were injured are receiving medical attention at the Bole Hospital.

The Northern regional police command has confirmed the news to Starr News.
