World Vision International, WVI, has donated clothing and shoes worth ?25 million to five communities in the Assin District of the Central Region. They are Assin Framoase, Kwamoabeng, Gyinabodee, Bankyease and Sesekor. The WVI Representative at Assin Fosu, Mr.. Stephen Nkrumah, who made the presentation asked the communities to use proceeds from the sale of the items judiciously so that they could get more assistance from the organisation. The MP for Assin South, Mr.. Kwaku Alhassan, urged the people to live in peace to enhance the development of their communities. For his part, the MP for Assin North, Miss Florence Kumi, expressed concern about the bad behaviour of some settlers in the District who often move to their home areas during the national census. She said this affects the District Assembly’s share of the Common Fund the Fund because allocations depend on the level of population in an area.
