NDC MP John Gyetua dead

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi West in the Western region John Gyetua has died, Starr News has learnt.

The NDC MP died Tuesday afternoon at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a protracted illness, family sources have confirmed.

Mr. Gyetua was in 2010 appointed Minister of State at the Presidency by the late President John Mills.

The exact illness which led to his death is yet to be made public by his family.

Following his death, the Electoral Commission of Ghana, will set a date for a by-election after an official notification from Parliament.

The last time a by-election was held in Ghana was on July 7 in the Talensi constituency.
