Armed robbers gun down Police constable in Ho

A police constable, Emmanuel Nii Atseku, has been shot dead by armed robbers at a Gas filling station in Ho, Tuesday dawn.

The incident is said to have occurred at about 1:30am at the Radiance Filling station near a GRIDCO substation, popularly known as ‘Power House’, off the Adaklu road where the constable was serving on night duty.

According to Starr News sources, about eight robbers stormed the filling station ostensibly for a robbery operation, but quickly absconded after shooting the policeman in the head.

The deceased is believed to be in his early 30s.

Workers at the filling station are, however, tight lipped on the incident.

The regional Police command has commenced investigations into the incident.
