Justice Ajet Nasam returns official cars

Justice Ajet Nasam, one of the High Court Judges who has been implicated in the damning corruption scandal that has hit the Judiciary, has returned his official cars to the state.

He has also tendered in his resignation from the Superior Court of Ghana after the exposé, but the Chief Justice (C.J) Georgina Theodora Woode has rejected his (Nasam’s) resignation.

An investigative piece by ace Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has established complicity of some thirty-four (34) high profile Judges in an explosive corruption scandal likely to impact negatively on the reputation of the Judiciary.

The Judges have been captured on tape in discussion with suspects or assigns of suspects on how to compromise the cases before their respective courts.

The incriminatory video shows money changing hands as one could hear the judges allegedly making demands as they plan to throw away cases which include robbery, murder and corruption among others.

“What if I release him (armed robbery suspect) on Friday and I don’t see you again?” Quist was heard on tape allegedly quizzing someone.

“Oh I will get him off. I will get him off the hook on Friday but everything will depend on you,” he stressed in the conversation.

The C.J, Georgina Woode has been on a campaign in the past few years to deal ruthlessly with acts of corruption which is prevalent in the judiciary.

It remains to be seen what action the Judicial Council will take against these “criminal” Judges if their complicity in the scandal is eventually established.
