Global Communities launches citizen’s report card

The Global Communities International, an NGO has introduced the Citizen’s Report Card concept, to enable Ghanaians to monitor and ask for better social services from state agencies.

The concept which formed part of the “Inclucity” project of the NGO would examine how best the infrastructural amenities are meeting the needs of the citizenry.

He mentioned some of the amenities as schools, hospitals, electricity, water and sanitary facilities.

Mr Mohammed Abdul Salaam, Project Coordinator told the GNA that the NGO is collaborating with the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly to ensure that stakeholders serve Ghanaians better and improve on service delivery.

He said a team has been put together to gather ideas and information on the current state of services being provided by the agencies concerned within the Metropolis adding that a validation workshop would help to streamline the findings to be copied to stakeholders.

Mr Salaam said the project would also look at effective engagement with service providers, promote information and knowledge sharing.
