AMA supports Muslims

Dr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has donated 40 bags of rice and 20 cartons of oil to support the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu.

He said the donation formed part of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s (AMA) social responsibility to Muslim families.

He urged Muslims to use the occasion to renew their cooperation with the nation and the AMA.

Dr Vanderpuije asked the Chief Imam to pray for the nation and the assembly for continuous peace that the country is enjoying.

He gave the assurance that the AMA would continue to support Muslims in the coming years.

Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu expressed gratitude to the MCE and called on Muslims youth to ensure a peaceful observance of the Eid-al-Fitr.

He called on Muslims in the country to be law-abiding during the celebration.
