Islamic Council to feed needy Muslims

The Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services, (ICODEHS), has stated that as part of its charity activities for the fasting, it would be feeding needy Muslims throughout the month of Ramadan.

A statement issued in Accra by Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim, Executive Chairman of ICODEHS and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday, entreated Muslims to renew their commitment to Allah and pray for peace in Ghana and the world at large.

It described Ramadan as the most auspicious event that occurs yearly to help Muslims take stock of their lives, renew their faith, empower them to fulfill their divine mandate on earth, as well as to enable them attain “Taqwa” which is Allah’s consciousness.

The Council extended its condolence to the bereaved families of the June 3 disaster, and appealed to government to embark on many underground drainage systems in Accra to avoid the recurrence of such an incident.

The statement urged Ghanaians, especially Muslims, to be disciplined as they went through this holy month, and after translate lessons they acquired during this period to influence society.
