NPP crisis: Together we shall rise again – Kwabena Agyepong

Under fire New Patriotic Party (NPP) general secretary Kwabena Agyepong is optimistic sanity will prevail in the party again, despite the turbulence the elephant family is going through.

Agyepong and the national chairman of the party Paul Afoko are under pressure to resign following the killing of the Upper East regional chairman of the party Adams Mahama.

Mahama was acid-attacked and died subsequently from the act a fortnight ago, a few days after an open confrontation with the two national executives. Agyepong and Afoko were ‘barred’ by the party’s internal security – the ‘Invisible’ – from reporting at the national headquarters.

The flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo called for a truce last week and directed the two embattled national executives to return to work.

Agyepong was spotted with Akufo-Addo at his office when the Winneba Youth Choir called on him.

Announcing the visit on his Facebook wall, Agyepong wrote: “Together we shall rise again” to accompany the photos.

In attendance were the former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen and the National Women’s Organizer, Otiko Afisah Djaba.
