Churches urged to eschew worship of money

Professor Enoch Immanuel Agbozo, the leader of the Ghana Evangelical Society says the church must eschew the love and worship of money which is the bane and cause of stagnation and non-progress in the country.

He stressed that the love for money was the cause and force behind the widespread corruption, evil ways and wickedness, the pursuit of power, position and fame.

Addressing a press conference in Accra on the divine message to the Church and nation, Prof Agbozo said the Church had now been turned into a human institution and ran with human ideas and ways, politics and money.

He commended Ghanaians for observing a decree by God to observe a national week of confession and repentance across the country from Monday April 27 to Sunday, May 3, to shield the country from evil.

Prof Agbozo said God had assured the Church and the nation of His healing but will bring judgment of fire upon the disobedient, corrupt, evil and wicked in the land.

He said the country shall rise and experience the fruit of righteousness, divine judgment, mercy, goodness, progress and glory of the nation.

“God has declared that He will make Ghana a Holy Land to which nations shall come to witness the beauty and glory of the country”, he added.
