Event organisers advised to provide shelter against rainfall

The public have been advised to provide shelter against rainfall, during out-door activities to mark this year’s Easter.

“We particularly expect rainfall over most parts of the country this coming Easter Sunday,” says Mr Michael Padi, Meteorologist at Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA), Kotoka International Airport, Accra, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

He said with the beginning of the first and major rainy season over the southern sector of the country, intermittent rainfall should be expected.

The meteorologist advised the public to keenly follow the weather forecast, in order to plan activities in a manner that prevents the rain from disrupting them.

“Please call the GMA office for weather advice on daily basis,” he said.

Mr Padi also urged farmers within the southern sector who had not started planting to do so, and also urged them to call the GMA office for any information they might need on the weather.

He said the rainy season is only over the southern sector as it has not begun in the northern part.
