Severe rainstorm displaces over 700 Tamale residents

Over 700 people have been rendered homeless in the Northern region after a severe rainstorm hit Tamale and its environs Tuesday.

Several houses have had their roofs ripped off with some schools and hospital buildings completely destroyed.

The displaced persons are now putting up with relatives and friends.

Academic work and the operations of some government agencies have also been disrupted by the rainstorm.

Some of the victims who narrated their ordeal to Starr News called on government to immediately come to their aid.

The DCE for Mion, Dan Makandah, who toured the affected areas said the assembly is yet to assess the damage and liaise with the National Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO) to support the affected victims.
