An Accra Fast Track High Court has adjourned the case involving Abuga Pele, the former National Co-ordinator for GYEEDA and Philip Akpeena Assibit of the Goodwill International Ghana for prosecution to produce witness.
Mrs Evelyn Kelson, a State Attorney, prayed the court for adjournment because the seventh prosecution witness was on assignment.
She said the State had two more witnesses to call before ending their case.
The judge said it was unfair on the part of the prosecution, adding that “you should have given me a notice”.
At the last adjourned date the judge urged the State to end its case before Good Friday.
Pele and Assibit are facing various charges for causing financial loss of 41.1 million Ghana cedis to the state.
The state has accused Assibit of putting in false claims that he had secured a 65 million dollar World Bank funding for the creation of one million jobs for the youth which led government to part with 4.1 million Ghana cedis.
Pele is also alleged to have entered into a contract with Assibit to engage in activities which have injured the state financially.
The State presented Mr Eric Sunu, an Accountant, attached to GYEEDA as its sixth witness at the last adjourned date
They both pleaded not guilty to all charges and are on bail.
The case was adjourned to March 17 and 18.
