Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, Director General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), has advised businessmen and businesswomen, who travel to Asia, to report any chest problem they, might have, to the nearest health institution.
This is because the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is more virulent in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Prof Badu Akosa, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency after attending the Ghana Medical Association’s (GMA) Second Representative Board Meeting in Sunyani, advised Ghanaians engaged in businesses with Asians, especially importers, who did frequent travels to Asian countries, to comport themselves and promptly report any chest problems.
He said a Technical Committee of the Association had gone to the ports and frontiers to create awareness about the disease. “A lot is being done to avert any situation of its outbreak in the country.”
