MMT Impasse: Board Chair, Dep MD asked to step aside

Both the Board Chairman and Deputy Managing Director of the troubled Metro Mass Transport Company have been asked to step aside.

Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III and the Deputy MD, John Awuku Dzuazah were directed to step aside from their charges Monday following accusations of mismanagement by staff of the state transport company.

The workers say the Board Chair and Deputy Managing Director of the company should be dismissed because they believe they both have a hand in the disappearance of buses belonging to the company in recent times.

They embarked on a nationwide strike to press home their demand.

Minister for Transport, Dzifa Attivor who addressed the angry staff before they called off their civil action noted that government will investigate their claims and find appropriate solutions to them.
