Greater Accra Regional Minister donates to chiefs

Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Tuesday presented food items to the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs (GARHC) at Dodowa on behalf President John Dramani.

The items, which included five boxes of cooking oil, 15 bags of rice, and one cow, were presented to the chiefs during their end of year meeting.

Mr Afotey-Agbo noted that the food items were given to the chiefs in appreciation of their relevance to the government.

He said: “It is important to present these food items to the regional chiefs especially at the end of their regional house of chiefs meetings because we can’t just allow you end the year without coming to show our love and concern to you.”

“This is to show that we’ve not left you and we’ll support you to govern…and to make sure nothing is wrong with you.”

Mr Afotey-Agbo urged them to continue with their hard work despite the numerous challenges they face.

“I urge you all to work well no matter what, and rise against people who are being influenced with money to sell your lands. Be vigilant of any illegal activities by any police commander who collect money from people and sell your lands,” he said.

The chiefs commended the Minister for his immense assistance to the house as well as the President for showing them love.
