RE: Tension looms in Ga state

In reference to an article with the above caption published in both Today newspaper and GhanaWeb of Thursday, 4th December 2014 on the internet, we wish to state categorically that there is absolute peace in the Ga State. We again wish to state that the self-acclaimed Ga Djaasetse Nii Tetteh Kwei is a pretender and charlatan who is bent on causing confusion and mayhem in the Ga State.

The said Nii Tetteh Kwei has earlier on been declared as not qualified for the position of the Ga Djaasetse of the Ga Paramount Stool, when he was vetted by an eminent panel of the Ga-Dangbe Council. The only person nominated, accepted, consecrated and enstooled by the Ga Paramount Stool Djaase as Ga Djaasetse according to Ga customs, traditions and usage is Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II. The officially accredited and recognized Djaasetse of the Ga State.

We also wish to say that the current Ga Mantse Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II was nominated, consecrated and enstooled by the Ga Paramount Stool Djaase according to Ga customs, traditions and usage on the 11th June 2011. Indeed, since his outdooring to the general public, the Ga Mashie community and the Ga state as a whole has been peaceful without any agitation from any quarters whatsoever.

Furtherance to the above, we wish to state that the Ga Traditional Council does not play any role in the nomination, consecration, installation, enstoolment and outdooring of any Ga Mantse according to Ga customs, traditions and usage; rather, it is the Ga Paramount Stool Djaase that has the sole prerogative of enstooling a Ga Mantse and not the Ga Traditional Council.

Thus, we take this opportunity to advise the general public to ignore the effusions of the said Nii Tetteh Kwei II and his group of nation wreckers by treating them with the contempt they deserve.

Signed,

The Paramount Stool Djaase Council.
