Youth Coordinator donates books to schools

Mr Ras Mubarak, National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority, has donated dozens of exercise books to three basic schools in the Kumbungu District to aid their academic exercises.

The beneficiary schools are the Dalun Roman Catholic Junior High School, Satani Zion Primary School, and the Zugu-Yipelgu District Assembly Primary School.

Speaking at the Dalun Roman Catholic Junior High School, after making the presentation to the School, Mr Mubarak said the donation, amongst others, was to complement efforts at improving education and the enrolment of pupils in his native district.

He said it was also to encourage the pupils to study hard to achieve greater heights to enable them to become responsible citizens.

He said the government had prioritized education and youth empowerment and would continue to put in place structures to ensure youth empowerment through education.

Mr Mubarak later donated a desk top computer and accessories to the Kumbungu Constituency Office of the National Democratic Congress to be used for its clerical activities.

Mr Alidu Abdul-Rahman, Headmaster of Dalun Roman Catholic Junior High School, thanked Mr Mubarak for the donation, saying the exercise books would help the school in its activities.
