Kelewole seller remanded for causing harm

A 37- year-old kelewole seller, Rakia Adams, was on Thursday remanded into police custody for a week by Half Assini magistrate court for causing harm.

She was charged on four counts of causing harm to Emmanuel Dateakwa, Stephen Yeboah, Issah Ahmed and Francis Addae all vulganizers of Elubo.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charge of harming Dateakwo and Addae and not guilty to the charge of harming Ahmed and Yeboah.

Police Chief Inspector Robbert Owusu said the victims had their workshop near the Elubo Post Office where the accused person also did her business.

He said the accused person’s husband suspected her of having an affair with one of the vulganizer boys and sent her to her parents but she returned to Elubo.

Rakia accused one of the boys of revealing her affair with one of them to her husband and this generated enmity between her and the boys.

The prosecutor said on November 13 the boys’ master asked the accused to stop plying her trade close to the workshop because of on-going roadwork.

Later, the boys heard her casting insinuations against their master and when they confronted her she poured hot oil on them, causing severe injuries.
