Husband jailed 20 years for defiling wife’s sister

A 25-year-old farmer, Kwame Osei, a native of Ajumako Ochiso, near Ajumako, has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in hard labour on a defilement charge by the Agona Swedru Circuit Court.

Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Ernest Darkwa told the court presided over by her Worship Abigail Amma Asare that on October 16 about 10:00 am Kwame Osei went to farm with his wife’s junior sister.

The prosecution said, Osei placed a cocoa sack on the ground and forcibly had sexual intercourse with the girl on the sack.

The police said when they returned home the girl reported the ordeal to her senior sister, Madam Denyianza, who also reported to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for investigation and prosecution.

The court convicted Osei on his own plea of guilty and accordingly sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment.
