Faibille charges: Mahama nust be action-oriented…

“Ebola is not just a Liberian problem, Ebola is not a Sierra Leonean or a Guinean problem; it is not just a West African problem, Ebola is a problem of the world because it is a disease that knows no boundaries,” President John Dramani Mahama told World leaders at the 69th UN General Assembly in New York.

The President’s statement comes in a time when the Ebola virus is currently spreading across West Africa. Per the World Health Organisation (WHO) report, the dreaded virus has killed over 3,000 people in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria since its outbreak.

Analyzing the President’s statement on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Mr. Egbert Faibille, a legal practitioner commended him (Prez Mahama) for his eloquence but demanded that he should back it with action especially in his country, Ghana.

“Government response towards Ebola has been poor, shambolic and irresponsible to say the least…Communication wise, I didn’t expect less from President Mahama…but the foundation of the speech and Ghana’s status in terms of preparedness…we have heard a lot of speeches, it is time for action. The President must transform the speech into a commitment to prevent Ebola from breaking out in Ghana and even if in the worst scenario, we get a case; our response must be above board,” he urged.
