NPP official calls for ceasefire

The Ablekuma North Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kofi Ofori Bella, has appealed to officials and supporters of the party to put an immediate end to the “ media war” raging on in the party.

Mr. Bella told the GNA in an interview that every political party had its fair share of internal strife but this should not be acrimonious and degenerate to a situation where party officials and supporters would be at its other’s throat in the media.

It was very important, he said, for all to note that the current situation where either party officials or supporters rushed to the media to issue counter accusations instead of settling differences internally was hurting the numerous sympathizers of the party.

Mr Bella said Ghanaians were fed up with the abysmal performance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration and were looking up to the NPP to take over the governance of the country to reverse the economic hardships they were going through.

He said energy spent in the media should rather be channeled into strategizing to wrestle power from the NDC in the 2016 national elections and what needed to be done was for absolute peace and unity devoid of the so called “factionalism” within party.

Mr Bella said the Supreme Court ruling on the election petition was clear that no matter any malpractices that went on at polling stations elections could only be won there and not in the court room.

The focus of party, he said, apart from campaigning vigorously to bring out the incompetence’s and alleged corruption in the NDC administration and what the NPP could do for Ghanaians to make their lives better should be the training of party agents to be extra vigilant on polling day.
