Teacher remanded into prison custody for defilement

Takoradi Circuit Court “B” on Monday remanded John Jeremiah Essilfie, a 32-year old teacher of Methodist Wood Junior High School in Takoradi into prison custody for allegedly defiling a female pupil of the school.

The accused who was in Police custody is to re-appear on September 26.

His plea was not taken and the Prosecution did not give the facts of the case because Police investigations into the case have not been completed.
