‘Disorganised’ NPP can’t govern Ghana

A Deputy Minister has said the main opposition New Patriotic Party’s inability to make “basic” internal appointments without wrangling, makes it unfit and unable to govern the entire country.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu said Monday that a “disorganised” party of such magnitude cannot be trusted to handle the destiny of an entire nation.

There are raging disagreements within the biggest opposition party about recent appointments made by General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, who has been accused of acting unilaterally.

He has come under a deluge of criticism for allegedly sidelining party structures in the appointment process.

Amidst the furore, the party’s Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu, has accused the former flagbearer-aspirant of allowing himself to be bribed by the governing National Democratic Congress, to create trouble in the NPP. Party Elders including first Vice-Chairman Freddie Blay and Ashanti Regional Chairman F F Antoh say Agyapong’s unilateral actions will be resisted.

Kwakye Ofosu told private FM station, Asempa, Monday that if the NPP cannot handle a “very basic” internal process of that nature, then the party cannot be taken seriously by Ghanaians, least of all given the chance to rule a whole country.
