Man fined GH¢600 over plastic chairs theft

The Nyinahin Magistrate Court, presided over by Mr Sam Nibi, has sentenced a man accused of stealing three plastic chairs to a fine of GH¢ 600.

Kwabena Patrick pleaded guilty to the offence and would serve 50 days in prison in default. Police Inspector Daniel Otabil said the crime was committed on July 12, at Agogoso near Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District.

The complainant, Kawola Tawiah, hired a number of plastic chairs for the funeral of his deceased brother but a day after, but when the chairs were supposed to be returned to the owner, it was detected that three were missing.

Through his own investigations, he managed to trace the stolen chairs to the room of the accused. He reported the matter to the Unit Committee and he was arrested and handed over to the police.
