Veep must spearhead economic recovery or resign – Industrialist

An industrialist, William Awuku Aheadomeh is blaming the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, for the country’s ailing economy.

According to the vice chairman of the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo branches of the Association of Ghana Industries, the vice president is not playing his complimentary role effectively.

He told Ultimate Radio that Mr. Amissah Arthur has been docile in bringing his experience to bear on the economy.

He is worried the vice president’s capacity as head of the Economic Management Team and his experience as an economist is not being felt in the country’s leadership.

“If his views are respected, we have economic crisis to fix. Let us see him spearheading the fixing,” he charged.

He added strongly, “we know our president is from a mass communication background; meanwhile, the economist that must partner him; we are not seeing the effect,”

Mincing no words, he advised that the vice president becomes more assertive in his role or “honorably resign.”
