Chinese Ambassador calls on Regional Minister

The Chinese Ambassador, Ms Sun Baohong on Friday, paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minster, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, to introduce herself formally to him.

The meeting also discussed ways to work together for the development of Ghana and China.

Ms Sun said her country was eager and willing to collaborate with Ghana to help tackle various issues, especially sanitation since the population of Beijing, China’s capital is equivalent to the population of Ghana.

She said it was important for government to put the interest of the people first in its development agenda, saying she is confident that the Chinese business industry would contribute its quota to the development of the nation.

She said while Chinese private businesses are interested in investing in Ghana; they have the difficulty of access to adequate land to invest or cultivate and set up their agro-industries.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo said Accra is the seat of government and there are lots of activities relating to governance that occur within the region.
