Sunyani Methodist Youth donate to orphans

Members of the Wesley Cathedral branch of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) in Sunyani have presented assorted items worth about GH?2,000 to the Compassion Is Love Orphanage at Yawhima near Sunyani.

The items included used clothing, detergents, and several packets of sachet-water as well as food items. The gesture formed part of the fellowship’s week-long anniversary.

A minister at the Wesley Cathedral, Rev. Kwaku Adomako Acheampong who presented the items on behalf of the fellowship, emphasised the need for Christians to give much attention to both the material and spiritual needs of the underprivileged in society.

For his part, the Wesley Cathedral branch Chairman of the MYF Francis Yeboah said the fellowship will pay regular visits to the Compassion is Love Orphanage and other orphanages around Sunyani to minister to them, as well as share with them what members of the fellowship have.

Receiving the items, the Founder of the Home, Rev. Mrs. Charlotte Osei Kwarteng, paid glowing tribute to the Methodist Youth Fellowship for demonstrating their love for the residents of the home.

The Compassion Is Love Orphanage currently has 50 children and ten voluntary working staff.
