This is the period of reckoning – Minister tells BECE candidates

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, the Minister of Education, on Wednesday, appealed to final year students writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), to conduct themselves properly in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the examinations.

“This is the period of reckoning. I strongly believe in your ability to perform creditably in the examinations. Indeed, your teachers, parents and well-wishers have over the period prepared you adequately for the task ahead,” a statement signed by Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said.

“On the occasion of the commencement of the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) from Monday 16 June, 2014 to Friday, 20th June, 2014, I wish to congratulate all of you for your dedication and hard work throughout your period of basic school education,” she said.

The Minister said she had confidence in the students that they would conduct themselves well to enhance the credibility of the examinations and bring joy to “your schools, parents and yourselves.”

She appealed to all supervisors and invigilators to ensure that the needed serene atmosphere was created at all times during the examinations.

“I wish you all good luck and God’s guidance throughout the examinations,” the Minister added.
