Teenager remanded over cables theft

The Juaso Circuit Court has remanded a 19 year-old man into prison custody over alleged cables theft.

Kwadwo Boabeng, facing charges of unlawful entry and stealing, pleaded not guilty.

The court presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante ordered him to make his next appearance on June 19.

Police Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng said Boabeng broke into the room of Shadrack Kofi Appiah at Konongo, on May 13, at about 1400 hours, to steal the cables.

The complainant returned on time to catch the accused right in the act and assisted by a neighbour, arrested him.

The prosecution said Boabeng, however, managed to free himself and escaped before they could send him to the police station.

Appiah on June 4, spotted the accused and caused his arrest.
