Ten communities connected to electricity

Ten communities in the Sagnarigu District of the Northern Region have been connected to the national grid to boost business activities of residents.

The communities include Demali, Ngurun, Kpene, Dugushagu, Sanga,Nyerizee, Bukpamo, Chanaayili, Namgba-Yepalla and Namgba-Yekura.

Work is also at an advanced stage for 10 more communities in the district to be connected to the national grid.

Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, Deputy Northern Regional Minister, who inaugurated the facility for the beneficiary communities at Demali at the weekend, said government had also provided a number of communities in the district with potable water, classroom blocks and road network amongst other amenities, to improve their lot.

Alhaji Fuseini told the people that government appreciated their loyal support and will not forget them when it came to the sharing of the national cake. He assured them of continued government support for development.

He stressed the need for parents to take advantage of the numerous interventions of government in the educational sector and enrol their children in school to secure them a better future.

Alhaji Mohammed Sorogudoo, District Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, said despite the current challenges, government was striving to ensure that all communities in the district were connected to the national grid to boost business and other productive ventures.

Alhaji Sorogudoo appealed to residents to remain patient as government worked to extend more projects to the district for rapid development.

Kpeni-naa Mohammud (Chief of Kpene) thanked government for providing the communities with the facility and assured of their continued support for government to succeed.
