Statement: Informer publication on Akufo-Addo advice to Dr. Apraku false

The Office of Nana Akufo-Addo has read with total dismay a publication in the Informer newspaper, of Friday April 25, 2014, with the banner headline “Stop Wasting Your Time And Money – Dr Apraku told.”

The story purportedly quotes an associate of Nana Addo who, unsurprisingly spoke to the paper on condition of anonymity, and advised Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku to “stop wasting his time and resources, since his vision (of becoming Presidential Candidate) will never see the light of day”.

Clearly, this story has the sole motive of trying to create disaffection between Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Apraku, and potentially all other members of the NPP who would like to contest for the flagbearership position ahead of the 2016 elections.

The NPP has always stood for the principles of competition and choice, and Nana Addo has, and will always be a firm believer in these principles. He is not in the business of discouraging anyone from fulfilling a personal ambition, more so an ambition as important as becoming President of our dear nation.

Once again, we urge all NPP members to disregard these publications, which always emanate from pro-NDC newspapers, thrown into the public domain with the intention of sowing seeds of discord amongst members.
