NPP has a weak research team – Ben Ephson

With regards to the hullabaloo that characterized the 2012 general elections, the team, in charge of research for the New Patriotic Party, has been described as weak.

Managing Editor for the Daily Dispatch, Mr. Ben Ephson made this scathing remark on Okay FM during an interview with the host of the Ade kye Abia, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese. According to him, there is an urgent need for the party executives to “overhaul” the entire team put in place to monitor the proceedings of the 2012 elections.

Mr. Ephson, who is regarded by many as a prominent pollster, added that he was surprised to learn the research team for the NPP put out claims that they believe NDC rigged the 2012 elections “because NPP MPs polled over 121, 000 more than NDC MPs after votes had been cast”.

This assertion, according to him, is laughable. He added that he was stunned to see Lawyer Addison, lead counsel for the petitioners in the landmark Supreme Court petition trial, raise the same argument to convince the judges to rule in favour of the NPP.

“This is funny because it is either their (NPP’s) research team isn’t working,” Mr. Ephson quipped.
