Volta youth urged to push region forward

Dr. Eric Amakpa, Director of Royal Hospital in Ho, on Friday urged young people in Volta Region to be innovative and “engender entrepreneurial spirit” to push the region forward.

Dr. Amakpa was speaking at the launch of “Wake-up Network Solutions,” a website dedicated to the rapid socio-economic development of the Volta Region.

He asked the youth to resist all forms of distraction and rededicate themselves towards the “forward march” of the region.

“The ball is in our court; let’s not retire to our fate. Our progression as a region and ultimately as a nation is in our hands,” Dr. Amakpa said.

Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, said though the region was endowed with rich human resources, chieftaincy and land disputes are making it difficult to harness those resources for development.

He commended initiators of the website for the foresight and entreated them to consult widely before putting information on the website.

King David Suitor, Executive Director of the Network, described Wake-up Network Solution as a fully integrated, broad-based organisation focused to serve as a leading catalyst for building opportunities for young people.
