Police to increase visibility during load-shedding period

The Police administration says it has instituted measures to increase its visibility during the two-week national load-shedding exercise.

According to the Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tettey, various patrol teams would be on the ground to secure life and property especially in areas that would be experiencing power outages at a particular point in time.

He said on Joy FM that guided by the national load-shedding timetable, there would be regular patrolling in the various communities.

“We have an elaborate security plan in place and it is not going to be different from previous ones. We have the timetable for the load-shedding exercise so this is virtually going to guide us in terms of increasing police visibility,” he said.

DSP Freeman Tettey however, advised the public to be prompt in accessing police services by calling the police crime fighters’ hotlines on 773906 and 1885 for Vodafone and MTN customers.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Wednesday released a timetable for the emergency load-shedding exercise.

As per the schedule, households will go off for 12 hours and have power stability for 48 hours.
