Nation building is collective responsibility of all – Education director

Madam Comfort Ntoni, Acting Jomoro District Director of the Ghana Education Service, has said nation building was not the sole responsibility of the political party in office, but required the collective and concerted efforts of all and sundry.

Madam Ntoni made this remark at a parade of school children, security personnel and voluntary organizations to mark the 57th Independent Anniversary celebration at Half Assini in the Western Region.

She pointed out that unity and patriotism did not operate in tribalism, sectionalism, partisanship, dishonesty and other negative tendencies.

Mr. Sylvester Daddieh, Jomoro District Chief Executive, said the assertion by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s First President, that, “Africans are capable of managing their own affairs,” had lost its value, and is being used as “Political football.”

Awards were presented to deserving schools .
