Blame past gov’ts for huge budget deficit – Mahama

President Mahama says Ghana’s huge budget deficit must be blamed on fiscal indiscipline by past governments.

He said efforts being made to correct many ills in the management of the economy are facing stiff confrontation from persons within the system who abhor positive change.

According to President Mahama, there are, however, indications that change will surely come.

But he urged the private sector to assist in growing the economy.

The President made these comments during a meeting with the new managing director of Barclays Bank Ghana, Patience Akyianu, at the Flagstaff House Wednesday.
