Akua Donkor exposes Freko FD Ltd for sponsoring NPP

The presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Madam Akua Donkor has added her voice to calls for the cancellation of the contract agreement between the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and Freko FD Ltd, managers of the Kejetia terminal.

Speaking to the Daily Democrat newspaper, Akua Donkor observed that management of Freko, especially the managing Proprietress, Madam Freda Darko, is a bad administrator and cautioned the public not to sympathize with her over the takeover of the terminal from Freko FD Ltd.

According to her, Freko Ltd rakes in Ghc300 million daily from the Kejetia terminal, but the company continues to mismanage the area thereby causing persistent traffic jams, blackouts, congestion, crime and lawlessness at the place.

Akua Donkor averred that the company’s continuous mismanagement of the terminal compelled her to voluntarily spend an amount of Ghc250 million to buy sand, cement and other materials to develop the terminal in 2011, but when her labourers started the work, Madam Freda Darko chased them away and then used the materials to build illegal structure for herself.

Akua Donkor alleged that Madam Freda Darko at one time told her in the face to go away because she (Freda) uses part of the terminal’s proceeds to sponsor the NPP, a situation Akua Donkor described as shocking.

The GFP leader observed that Freda FD Ltd only got the contract to deceive the KMA but now that Kojo Bonsu is aware of the deals being made by the company and is taking over is good news to the government.

Akua Donkor prayed the public to rally behind the KMA boss in the takeover process to ensure that proper management is put in place to relieve passengers from their stress when they travel to Kejetia or leaving the terminal.
