A private funeral ceremony has taken place for late Prof. Kofi Awoonor at an undisclosed location here in Accra.
The late poet planned his funeral before his death in the Westgate mall terrorist attack in Nairobi Kenya.
His wish was that only a few close family members and friends should grace his funeral.
No strangers are also to see his body, according to his own directives.
Professor Kofi Anyidoho in an interview with XYZ News said a similar ceremony by the state will take place next week Friday, October 11, before the final burial of the remains.
