Four farmers remanded for possessing narcotics

Four people have been remanded by a Hohoe circuit court for possessing narcotic drugs without authority.

The four, whose pleas were not taken and are to re-appear in court on October 15, are Godsway Dzandu, unemployed, Charles Pomah, Francis Gbli and Dominic Asare, all farm labourers.

Korblah Awetse is, however, being sought after.

The prosecuting policeman, Mr Kartey Otumi, Hohoe Divisional Crime Officer, told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Solomon that police received intelligence about a consignment of dried leaves resembling Indian hemp deposited on Poma’s farm.

He said a police detachment uncovered five mini-bags of the substance on the farm, and Pomah and his accomplices were arrested.
