Cape Coast court remand lotto writer for murder

Francis Dadzie, a lotto writer in Cape Coast was on Thursday remanded by a Magistrates’ court in Cape Coast for allegedly murdering one Mr. Kojo Smith.

His plea was not taken and has been remanded into police custody to be re-arraigned on Thursday, July 18.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Charles Anku told the court presided over by Mrs Mercy Adei Kotei that, on Monday, July 1, an entertainment programme was held at the Jubilee Park which attracted many people including the accused and the deceased.

He said a misunderstanding ensued between the two, which generated into a fight but they were separated by people around.

Chief Inspector Anku said Dadzie left the scene but returned some few minutes later and engaged the deceased in a fierce fight during which he (Dadzie) stabbed the deceased in the chest and left lower ribs.

Smith was rushed to the Central Regional Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival, and the accused was arrested by the police.
