Wereko-Brobby has no business in NPP – Dan Botwe

A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Kwaku Botwe, has said that he would have sacked ‘loudmouth’ Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby in less than three hours if he was still the party’s general secretary.

“I believe the national leadership made a wise decision to suspend Dr. Wereko-Brobby for loudly going out on the party as we battle our petition in court,” he noted.

The Member of Parliament for Okere disclosed this on Hello FM on Saturday on the station’s “Akoko Abon” programme.

He added that the NPP is tolerant and that suspending somebody for misconduct does not mean that the party is intolerant.

Quoting Article 3 D 4 of the party’s constitution to buttress his claim, Hon. Botwe said the leadership unanimously agreed to suspend the latter. He added: “Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby has bitten more than he can chew and he must dance to the music being played.”

Dr. Wereko-Brobby is currently on suspension from the NPP for openly criticising the party’s court challenge of the results of the 2012 elections and also for his description of the party’s 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is the Second Petitioner and Key Witness in the hearing, as a “clueless” and confused person.
