Funds for MMDA’s must be transferred from consolidated fund

The Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Forestry is proposing the transfer of funds meant for Ministries, Departments and Agencies from the consolidated fund.

Inusah Fusieni said this will avoid the delays associated with the assessment of the funds from the consolidated funds.

Currently Ghanaian students on scholarships abroad risk being dismissed due to government’s failure to pay their allowances and fees in time.

Speaking on our Current Affairs Program the Analysts Inusah Fuseini said there could be challenges, but we should have mechanisms that would make us rise above the challenges.

“Because these are ceded revenue, dedicated funds that have to go to certain particular institutions, when the ministry of Finance collects the monies, they should just give it to those institutions.

“I know there could be challenges, but we should rise to the challenges and provide mechanisms that would ensure accountability, transparency in the management of those funds by those institutions” Hon. Fuseini said.
