IGP security briefing on Kumasi at Flagstaff House today

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Alhassan, is meeting with President John Mahama today on the security situation in the Ashanti regional capital of Kumasi.

The acting IGP was in Kumasi on Tuesday May 14 to get firsthand information on the worrying security situation in the Ashanti regional capital.

There have been about seven killings and reports of gangster activities in the region over the past month.

Some residents have said they are living in fear. The interior minister yesterday gave an assurance to ensure security to residents in Kumasi.

The acting IGP is expected to brief the President on the security situation in Kumasi.
