Ayariga: I did not take my bath before attending Indece Parade

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Hassan Ayariga has preferred some solutions to the water and power crisis confronting the nation.

What informed the PNC’s torchbearer’s post mortem analysis of the utility crisis facing the country is that Mr. Ayariga is frustrated with the fact that he did not get water to take a bath before attending the 56th Independence parade at the Black Star Square in Accra on Wednesday.

He has therefore, called for the de-coupling of political power from economic supremacy to fully resolve the power and water crisis that has been bedeviling the nation for the past decade.

Speaking to The Heritage newspaper in an interview, Mr. Ayagiga lamented that “After 56 years of independence, I did not get water to bath before coming to the 56th Independence parade.”

He said “we are confronted with the challenges of meeting the five basic necessities of life such as health, electricity, water, health and education as Ghanaians.

“Every individual has to fill his stomach, but many cannot confidently say they enjoy three square meals a day.

There is free healthcare but the system is not as effective as we all expect, he added.

He pointed out that ‘we have failed as a nation, not because we are not where we are, but because we have not reached where we are supposed to.
