A 25-year-old student, who forcibly had sex with a 9-year-old pupil has been jailed for 15 years with hard labour by the Akim Swedru Circuit Court.
Kofi Baiden pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.
Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah told the court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong, that the victim lives with her mother at the Akim Oda Old Town.
Inspector Appiah said on December 24, 2012 at about 1300 hours the victim’s mother sent her to call some fancy dancers (masqueraders) from the roadside for her.
He said whiles on her way, Baiden called her into his room and forcibly had sex with her and warned her not to tell anyone about the ordeal.
The prosecutor said the victim felt some pains and told the mother about it and she in turn reported the matter to the Police who arrested the convict.
