NDC in N/R calls for improvement in biometric voting

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), have called on the Electoral Commission and the Security Task Force to re-strategise to find solutions to the numerous challenges facing the biometric voting system.

Alhaji Hudu Yahaha, National Vice Chairman of the NDC catalogue a number of polling stations in the Tamale Metropolis where the elections started late with frequent breakdown of the verification machines.

He said in most of the polling stations, there was no electricity thus making it impossible to have voters casting their votes in the night whilst safety of electoral materials could not be guarantee.

Alhaji Yahaya urged all political parties to come together for a national consensus on the issue.

“We must not disenfranchised people in their attempt to exercise their civil rights ….We must not get enslaved with the system …We must get a reasonable level to address the problems,” Alhaji Yahaya said.

The political parties met the Regional Police Command to dialogue to find solution to the problem.
