Mahama is desperate to hang on to power – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern region has accused President John Mahama and the NDC of calculated attempts to buy the conscience of Chiefs in the region.

The group says recent gestures by the President to traditional leaders ahead of the December polls are a cause for concern.

Northern regional Communication Director of the NPP, Abdul Ganiyu Abudu made the allegation at a press conference in Tamale.

“There are desperate moves by the President and the NDC just to hang on to power at all cost.

“We do not have a problem of government giving vehicles to the National House of Chiefs and the regional House of Chiefs because these are creatures by the 1992 Constitution but the constitution also says that Chiefs must not participate in partisan politics”.

Abdul Ganiyu Abudu also accused the NDC government of parading achievements of private enterprises in the name of SADA.
